A Pancake Experience Worth Remembering

You know the way that people look at their lovers, with adoration and desire and lust, that is exactly how I looked at this food when it was put on my table! The cafĂ© in which this was produced was independently owned and you could definitely tell because it was so unique and the food is always better in places like this. I feel like not only do you get more for your money (have you seen the size of it?!) but you also get such a lovely atmosphere which I love. But back to the food for a moment, granted I did only have the pancake but it was, in a word, fabulous. I'm a real food lover, as I'm sure you can tell, and I like to try a different place every time but I will absolutely be going back here to try everything on the menu, it would be rude not to!

Exploring In The Rain

For as long as I can remember I've loved exploring, going to new places or getting in the car and seeing where we end up feels so natural to me. I know some people hate the typical rainy English weather but most of the time I think it makes everything look more interesting and slightly darker. One of the great things I find about living in England is that you never have to travel very far to be in the countryside, it's like one minute you're just in the middle of nowhere and you can find so many things to see and places to stop and eat and I've always loved that. I know that if you live in a bigger country than here(let's face it, it's not that hard!) you may not have the luxury of being able to find places like this but there's always something to see if you just pick a direction and go! P.s. remember to fill up on petrol before you start!

Sun, Coffee And Cake

The world can be a cruel place, if the past few days have taught us anything it's that, but the worst thing we can do is let that cruelty stop us from enjoying the things that make life a little bit more bearable. I've always found that there's something about the light at this time of year, it's so bright but it looks cold and it makes me want to wrap up warm and relax. And of course, if you just so happen to be in the vicinity of somewhere that sells cakes, you really should treat yourself to a little something.

Expanding My Kilner Collection

Surely no home is complete without Kilner jars? They're so classic and they complete the whole look of a well loved home, they're one of my favourite decorations and you can use them for so many things. If your kitchen feels like it's missing something, it's probably these! They're perfect for storing things like flour and sugar so if you like to bake (like me) these will definitely become a staple.

A New Festive Bedset

I was in Homebase recently when I saw this bedset and thought it was so nice for this season that I had to get it. It's 50% cotton so it feels really soft and warm and it's reversible so you get double for your money which is always a good thing!

Trying Out Some Natural Collection Products

I don't usually buy products from this range, not for any particular reason, but I was looking at some things in Boots recently and there was a 3 for 2 offer on so I decided to give these a go! I only got three things and the first thing is the Lash Care Clear Mascara which I use to set my eyebrows, all the products are £1.99 so they're great value and this holds my eyebrows in place well all day. I also got an Eye shadow Duo in Mocha/ Latte which is a very simple colour palette and it's great for everyday subtle looks and the colour pay out is really impressive. Finally I bought a Moisture Shine Lipstick in the colour Fig leaf (such a fitting name for this time of year) which is a lovely nude/ brown colour and it's great for everyday. Contrary to the title I actually find this looks quite matte, but not drying, although it still feels hydrating on the lips. I'm really impressed with this range, which I wasn't expecting considering the affordability, and I already have my eye on more of their products so if you're on a tight budget I recommend you give these a try (before selling your soul so you can afford the slightly higher end products!)

It's Hot Chocolate Time Again

It's got to the time of year when going into coffee shops and drinking something hot and a little bit naughty is mandatory, and quite frankly good for ones health! A few years ago I tried out a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and I haven't looked back since, I've tried lots of different versions from different places but this one has remained my favourite. For me, it just cements the fact that it's time to start getting festive again and break out the Christmas planner!

Faux Suede Knee High Boots

Lately there's been a huge trend for suede over the knee boots and I wasn't sure if I wanted some as I didn't know if I could pull them off and a few days ago I saw these and tried them on and wanted to give them a go. They're not real suede and the back panel is elasticated but I think buying some like this before you go all out with real suede is a good way to see if you like them and if you can style them. They're from Dorothy Perkins and they were originally £35 but they were 20% off so I got them for £28, they don't have a heel which I like and they come to just over the knee. They're nice and comfy and great for the season so I think I'll get a lot of wear out of them.

They're sold out on the website but they might still be in stores and if not I'm sure you can find some similars elsewhere if you want to try out the style.

A Little Tip For Getting Out Of The House

I sometimes find that life seems to be a little too planned out for my liking, you have to decide what you want to do, where to live, who to be and then you spend your time working towards that goal and we can lose our sense of spontaneity pretty easily. I have a lot of time on my hands right now and I like to use that time to just get in the car and get out, I'm sometimes not the best at making decisions so I've recruited a good old mug to hold suggestions on bits of paper for when I'm stuck for where to go. These aren't huge suggestions, just things like local villages or the beach, simple things that don't cause too much stress or anxiety and can be so enjoyable if you just relax.

If you ever feel like you need to get out but there's nowhere to go I really recommend that you write down a few things that are quite familiar to you, put them in a mug and use them when you're feeling stressed or anxious. It takes a lot of the stress off of you as you have to use whichever one you pick first, I find it's a great way of making me get out of the house when I'm really not feeling it and I feel better pretty much every time so it's well worth it. Who would have thought a mug could be so handy!

Exploring In The Autumn Sunshine

Yesterday I went to an adorable little village and it looked so picture-perfect in the autumn sunshine, I felt as though I'd stepped into a film with the perfect blue skies and old timbered buildings and places like this always feel like home to me. Everywhere I looked there were different details and things to see and I wanted to share them on here because places like this go unnoticed all the time and they make up so much of my childhood. My family and I would always explore different villages and they're all beautiful and unique.
And of course, what day would be complete without stopping for something to eat? For me, nothing beats traditional restaurants, timbers and an open fire; especially at this time of year.
And yes, it was as good as it looks!

A Foggy Start To November

Surely I can't be the only one who's slightly concerned that it's November already?! I do this every year, one minute it's just starting to get chilly and the next thing you know it's nearly Christmas! I woke up this morning to a blanket of fog and this evening I was walking my dog and thought that it looked so beautiful that I just had to document it. My camera couldn't pick up all the detail but I think the fact that everything is sort of out of focus and the lights are shining through is eerily beautiful.
