Face Washes and Scrubs

Hello people who are reading this post (if there are any of course, I may be talking to myself here), the weather in England has been pretty crazy lately, one minute it's pouring with rain and the next you're sweating like a buffalo on heat! Lovely imagery I know, but I find that when it gets to summer a lot of people, myself included, like to go for more lightweight makeup options, especially when it comes to foundation/ base makeup, however this means that the dreaded blemishes can be more noticeable. Now, there is nothing wrong with spots or discolouration or anything else that we put ourselves down for but I know it can get a lot of people down, so I thought I'd put together a few of my favourite washes and scrubs that have helped to keep my skin the clearest it's been for quite a while.

To start with, when I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is wash my face with the Soap and Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash, I bought it a few months ago and have been using it everyday ever since and I really think it's helped to clear up my skin and leaves it feeling hydrated. I follow this with a toner and then moisturiser but I won't include these as I haven't found any that are absolutely amazing yet. Then, if I'm going out somewhere I'll put a bit of makeup on etc.. which leads us to removing said makeup when I get home, I used to use makeup wipes but I found that some of them made my skin feel a little dry and I'd heard good things about Micellar water so I thought, why not give it a try? This is the first one I've used and it's the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water suitable for sensitive skin. I use this with a couple of cotton pads and gently wipe them over my skin and eyes and I think it does a great job and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry at all.

After removing my makeup, I wash my face with my Neutrogena visibly clear blackhead eliminating daily scrub, I like to use this method of using a wash in the morning and a scrub at night but you must make sure that the scrub is suitable for daily use otherwise it could dry out and damage your skin. This is my everyday routine but once or twice a week, instead of using the Neutrogena scrub I'll use either my Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Facial Scrub or my Dirty Works Pore-fect Face scrub. I don't do these more than twice a week because I don't want to use anything too rough on my skin.

I hope this has been helpful to anyone who wants a change in their normal skincare routine or is just getting into skincare, remember to always moisturise your skin and eyes every morning and evening after washing or scrubbing your skin to help it rejuvenate and hydrate itself.
