Simple Must Have Jackets

I always like to be dressed for the weather, but you can never be too sure what the day might bring in the UK so I find it's always good to have a couple of staple jackets that you can just throw on, or carry around with you! I also like pieces that can transition through the seasons with me which is why I've picked out these two jackets. We're moving towards Autumn now so the jacket I find myself reaching for most is this Topshop faux leather jacket, I got it a couple of years ago and it's still a must have piece for me! I find a leather (or fake leather) jacket is a great item to have and everyone should invest in one as they're so easy to throw on and they give your outfit an edge, without being too heavy and making you too hot. They also come in handy on rainy days as they're showerproof and will keep most of the rain off of you.

Review: Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

Ok, so I'm not really a foundation sort of person but when I found this in Boots I decided to try it out as it had great reviews and it's so affordable. The first thing that impressed me about this foundation is that it's so fine that it just glides onto your face and doesn't feel cakey, I find the best way to apply it is with my Real Techniques buffing brush as it transforms into a powder when it's worked in which means it's ideal for my oily skin and it keeps me shine free for longer than any other face product I've tried, a good few hours after it's been set slightly with a loose powder.

Concealer Hits And Misses

Throughout the years I have gone through many different concealers trying to find the perfect one that would cover my hereditary dark circles completely, but I've realised that it just doesn't exist! Or at least if it has, I certainly haven't found it, so I thought I'd do a post about the current concealers I have in case anyone else is having the same problem as me.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

I bought this CC cream after hearing good reviews about it and I decided to pick it up last week, I got shade 32 - light beige and this is a great shade for anyone with a yellow undertone (like me) but it was darker than I expected so I might try the lightest shade next time, hopefully this will have a yellow tone in it as well! I expected the coverage to be very light but it's actually really good at covering redness and blemishes , though it doesn't quite stretch to covering my dark circles!

Unconventional Beauty

I see a lot of pictures of good food and strategically placed items and it seems like this era of aesthetically pleasing but predictable pictures isn't going to end anytime soon, but you can't live your life on Instagram and those pictures certainly aren't indicative of the real world. I suppose what I'm saying is that it's so easy to look at these snippets from people's lives and become dissatisfied with our own, but if you take a minute to look around you it becomes so clear that there are ordinary, unspectacular, beautiful sights everywhere.

H&M Highlighter

Firstly, I apologise for the shoddy packaging but unfortunately the lid wasn't sturdy enough to survive being dropped from a moderate height and stay attached! I know there are so many people out there who love their highlighters and will spend extortionate amounts of money to get their hands on one so I thought I should let you in on this deceptively good product I found in H&M.

Rimmel In Love With Ginger

I'm sure you've heard of this lipstick, I know a lot of people love it but for me it's a new discovery and I love it! I only bought it a few days ago but I've been wearing it ever since, it's called 'In Love With Ginger' and it's a gorgeous orange/ red shade which is perfect for summer. As the title 'Moisture Renew' suggests, it's hydrating and very comfortable on the lips and after a little while of being on it turns from a semi glossy finish into a matte balm which means that it lasts for hours, it even managed to survive the mixed berry tart I demolished earlier!

If you're looking for, thinking about, or at all intrigued by this product I highly recommend it!
