Summer Accessories

In summer sunglasses are a must! Your eyes need UVA protection just as much as your skin does so bear this in mind and just throw a pair into your bag and leave them there so you always have them if you need them, and if you're a Brit like me, throw a collapsible umbrella in there too! I know there are people out there who have huge collections of sunglasses and certain pairs to go with certain outfits but that really isn't my style, I own these three pairs and the classic styles of them mean that they can be put with whatever outfit you like. The best thing you can do when buying sunnies is to check that they have a high level of UVA and UVB protection so that you're protecting yourself whilst still looking fabulous!

I think that one of the main differences between summer and winter style-wise is jewellery, in winter I tend to lean towards silver jewellery, however in summer accessories tend to be predominantly gold. I'm not a fan of over the top yellow gold chains or anything crazy like that, but I do love really dainty necklaces/ rings. The ring pictured below is in one of my favourite styles because it's quite delicate but with the pastel colour it really helps to add another dimension to your outfit. The photo doesn't really pick up just how pastel blue it is, but I think it works really well with my skin tone. Accessories are such an easy way to add something to an outfit, they can change the whole vibe of your look so you should spend a little bit of time thinking about what you're going for on that day.

I already said how much I like dainty necklaces, and this one below is one of my most frequently worn items. It's a gold coloured star, (though I really should invest in real gold at the rate I'm wearing this!) and I like having something small to draw attention to the space between your top and your chin (décolletage)  because that area is very underappreciated and I think is one of the most elegant parts of the body.

I know that everyone has their own opinion and taste but I think little things like this can really be adapted to suit whatever your personal style is, and the bottom line is you just need to wear what you want, when you want and do whatever you can to make yourself feel good.
