Coats, Gloves And Cafe's

I'm sure there's a theme developing here surrounding food and drink and today was no exception as I have discovered yet another adorable cafĂ©. Nothing comes more naturally to me on a cold Autumn day than wrapping up in a coat and gloves and finding nice cosy places to relax, it's a fab way of catching up with people and discovering new things on your own doorstep. If you're like me and you like finding new places I'm sure you'll appreciate days like this as much as I do.

A Rainy Day Out

I find there's something mystic about rain and it always makes everything feel cosier, on days like this I find it's best to just relax and appreciate simple things like food and old buildings and take some time for yourself. I also can't stress enough how vital getting food is when it comes to relaxing, you don't have to cook it yourself, you don't have to wash up, it's a win-win situation!

Lush's Golden Wonder

I used Golden Wonder from Lush this morning and I just couldn't resist taking pictures of it in action, it's so gorgeous! I'll definitely be picking this up again, and even though it's not something I'll use every time I have a bath, it's perfect for days when you want to relax and pamper yourself.

A Mini Lush Haul

This was my first time shopping at Lush, I'd been in before but wasn't sure what to try and after looking on their website I thought I'd try a few things. I picked up a bubble bar called 'The Comforter', a bath bomb called 'Golden Wonder' and a facial steam tablet called 'Tea Tree' and the only thing I've used so far is The Comforter which I really liked using. It creates so many bubbles and as you can see it turns the water pink, it also has a kind of sweet relaxing smell and just the colour of the water itself feels quite relaxing. I love the morals Lush has, it's a completely cruelty-free company and the ingredients are ethically sourced and I feel like the products reflect that as they're beautiful and interesting and there are so many more I have to try so I'll definitely be popping in to another branch soon!

Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

I was looking for something to do yesterday when I stumbled across my Nigella Lawson cookbook and found a recipe that I now feel duty-bound to share with you, chocolate chip cookies. I've always loved eating them but had never made them before and after tasting them I know I'll be making them again! They're so tasty and crumbly and they're not too sweet so you can eat a good few without feeling sick. This is the process of me baking them from start to finish and if you want to see the recipe I'll write it out below.

Breaking Out The Knitted Tights

I was never really into skirts and dresses growing up and even now it's rare to see me in them but on this day I decided that I wanted to add a little something to my outfit instead of just wearing jeans so I went for a skirt and knitted tights. I love the way that the tights are textured, they make things more interesting and they're so warm in this weather. You can't really see the skirt because of the jumper but it was a dark green and black checked skirt from H&M which I got last year and still really like. The jumper is from H&M and I got it last Christmas, I love the light grey colour and even though it's quite thin it's still warm and fluffy and so cosy. The boots are black suede effect ankle boots and I like these because they add a bit of structure and a little bit of height, they're definitely a staple for every wardrobe.

A Day At The Seaside

Is there anyone who can honestly say that they don't love the seaside? It always feels so fresh and you can smell the sea and hear the waves crashing onto the shore, I think it's one of the most romantic natural places that exists even when you're by yourself. It's the perfect place to sit and relax and evaluate things and just take some time to be with yourself, I always feel inspired when I leave the beach and there's such a sense of nostalgia there. If you're finding yourself overwhelmed or you've lost your inspiration take yourself to the beach and just sit and look and listen to sea and I'm sure you'll feel a lot more grounded and in control by the time you leave.

Christmas Has Quite Literally Come Early

I love Christmas as much as the next person, but even I was a little shocked to see this display in the middle of October! But all shock aside, this has made me feel pretty festive and I love the way everything sparkles and feels magical around this time of year. That's it where's my Christmas greatest hits CD?!

The Joy Of A Good Browse

I know that most people love the sun and any weather that isn't hot just isn't for them but I find days like today, when it's overcast and a bit chilly but not freezing, give things a whole new feel and perspective. This weather is perfect for wrapping up in layers and dashing in and out of shops to get out of the cold and rain and I think that makes you look at things in more detail and appreciate the warmth and comfort that comes from being indoors. If I go out on days like today, I find I spend most of my time browsing around places that I've been to dozens of times before but they feel different and less rushed and this is one of the main reasons I love Autumn so much. Don't you?
