A Vintage Adventure

Sometimes it's good to do things you don't necessarily think you'll like or you'll be into, I'm sure most people wouldn't think that young people enjoy antiques shops that are in the middle of nowhere but exploring places like this is something I've always been into doing with my family. I think there's something exciting and almost surreal to be able to see and touch things that people bought and loved potentially hundreds of years ago.

I've always loved things that are unique, I suppose I've always felt a little out of place myself so maybe I find some common ground with the weird and wonderful things you find in vintage and antique centres. Things today are so mass produced that it's hard to find things you really love, don't get me wrong you can still find some amazing things and create a style of your own but sometimes a piece of furniture or jewellery or art that isn't replicated anywhere makes a real difference to a room/ outfit.

I also love how nature is unique in itself, the way things grow and flourish without borders or barriers and make art out of the most mundane things. The top picture is something I felt I had to capture as sights like this go unnoticed and unappreciated everyday and they're constantly changing. The Autumn brings colour changes that are beautiful and it's sometimes hard to believe that an artist hasn't hand drawn the ivy on and painted each leaf individually.

I think one of the most spectacular things in life is individuality, so the next time you drive past an antiques centre or vintage market, or anything that you think isn't your cup of tea just try it out and see what you can find.
