What's New At Primark

(Side note, not easy to carry around in the pouring rain! Nearly suffered an excess moisture fiasco)
When I was younger, my friends and I would spend hours in town walking around pretending we were adults, and they always seemed to gravitate towards Primark. I never really saw the attraction, it wasn't pricey but I never found anything that was good quality and my mother always told me if you spend a decent amount on something it's much more likely to last! Recently, however, Primark seems to have reinvented itself, it's branched out to the US and I'd seen a few things on the website so I thought I'd go in and see what they had to offer!

I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have a lot of the items from their website in store but I did manage to find two items that I'm very impressed with. The first thing I found was the coat, I've loved the style of wrap around coats for quite a while but never found one that looked good on me, so when I saw this I knew I had to give it a chance. It's a size 6 (UK) which would normally be a bit too tight around the chest area for me (the image of a sausage in a corset springs to mind) but it's still plenty big enough to layer up underneath so it's a definite try before you buy piece. The colour is a gorgeous camel tone which is really on trend, and has been for many years so I don't see it going anywhere, and it's thick enough for cold days if you wear a jumper underneath but won't be great in the snow! It was £30 so quite pricey for Primark but it feels like decent quality.

The other item I picked up was a grey throw for my bedroom, when I looked at the price tag I couldn't quite believe it, only £5! It's so soft and heavy and warm and even though I doubt it will last for years and years, I know it'll last a while. It's also surprisingly large meaning it's perfect for laying on a double bed and it makes a great feature for a room, there were other throws with patterns and bolder colours but I've always been drawn towards different shades of grey, (if anyone's mind wandered to a certain novel there, mind out of the gutter please!).

I think it's safe to say that Primark might not be first on everyone's list but you really can find some good quality pieces so it's worth a look every once in a while!
